Individual Acting Skills
Individual Acting Skills is a syllabus for students of acting of all ages who wish to present a full range of acting skills for assessment as solo performers. Grade 1 is the most junior grade available at which level a candidate is required to perform a monologue and a mime as well as discussing the prepared pieces.
As the grades progress, prepared and impromptu improvisation is added, and contrasting monologues or speeches are required. There is no verse speaking requirement, though of course a candidate may choose a selection from a verse play. Discussion is on the prepared items and by the advanced levels a candidate will be required to discuss context, style, staging, and the rehearsal process.
This syllabus is a good choice for keen students from youth and adult drama groups, as well as for those individual students studying privately.
