The Trinity College London International Playwriting Competition

Entry for the next International Playwriting Competition will open on Monday 9 September 2013. The competition, now in its fourth year, is open to writers of any age, any level of experience and from any country.  It aims to encourage new writing for young performers and audiences around the world.

The winning playwrights in each category will be awarded a cash prize of £1,000, and will travel to London to see their plays headline the International Festival of Playwriting & Performance, which is taking place in May 2014. The best plays entered into the competition will be published in a collection with international distribution.

Categories & Prizes

Plays for Young Performers
One-act plays suitable for performers aged 11 years and under


Plays for Teenage Audiences
One-act plays suitable for audiences aged between 12 and 16 years

 

  • Cash prizes up to £1,000
  • Travel to London to see your play performed at the 2014 International Festival of Playwriting & Performance
  • Have your play published by Trinity in a collection of plays for young people
  • Special awards of £100 for the playwrights under 16 who shows the most potential.
