Trinity becomes a full member of ALTE
- Trinity College London is pleased to announce that it is now a full member of the Association of Language Testers in Europe. ALTE is an association of institutions within Europe, each of which produces examinations and cetrification for language learners. Founded in 1990, ALTE provides leadership in the field of language assessment.
Trinity is only the second examinations board to gain full membership of ALTE. In achieving this status, we can provide candidates with further reassurance that our English language examinations meet the highest standards in terms of test development, task and item writing, test administration, marking and grading, reporting of test results, tset analysis and reporting of findings.
In order to become a Full Member of ALTE, Trinity has satisfied the demanding criteria for ALTE membership and successfully completed a comprehensive audit of its Graded Examinations in Spoken English (GESE) and Integrated Skillsin English (ISE) examinations.
- Trinity was again present at the APPI Conference in Guimaraes, from 30 April-02 May. As usual, we had a stand and Barry Lynam gave a presentation titled Skills for Life - REAL life, based on how Trinity helps develop the soft skills that all education requires. Barry Lynam and Lisa Barry (your Portugal Coordinator) were there, as was Manuel Vidal, the Area Consultant for the North of Spain, and Lisa's right hand, Julia. Many thanks to APPI and to Lisa and Julia for all their work in making this a successful event.
- Universities in Catalunya will accept the following Trinity certificates as accreditation of level B2 of the CEFR:
Grade 7 or higher
ISE II or higher
- We have more news (soon to be published) about another example of our international accreditation at the highest level.
- We are now in peak exam organization period for this year. The first signs are that this will, yet again, be a record year in spite of the crisis. Thank you to everyone for again valuing our quality/price so highly.
- We held a teacher support workshop again in Porto last month, with tremendous success. Richard Bradley, and Lisa Barry your Coordinator in Portugal, were the presenters. Both presented highly practical and thought-provoking material which was very well received by the record number of participants for this event.
