Examiners do their best to put your candidates at their ease. As the teacher, you should study the requirements for each grade. These are set out clearly in the current syllabus.

You, the teacher, can help by choosing the appropriate grade for each individual candidate – not too high to become anxious and not too easy for the student to feel it’s not testing his/her language to the full extent. As students progress from one grade to the next, they have greater control over the content of the examination.

Download the GESE Syllabus via the GESE syllabus page to find out about the different grades and stages and the different tasks at each stage. Use the Sample GESE Videos to see real candidates and examiners in action and to get an idea about the level of language required for each grade and how to tackle the different tasks.
