Two exciting new certificates and diplomas in dance from Trinity
We’ve developed qualifications in partnership with international organisations to give you the chance to prove your skills and knowledge as a dancer, or a teacher of dance and related professional disciplines.
As you would expect from Trinity, all our assessments are based on the real-life needs of students and the industry, and each one of our assessors is a respected dance professional.
- The Level 6 Diploma in Dance Teaching and Learning (Children and Young People), developed in partnership with the Dance Training and Accreditation Partnership (DTAP), provides evidence to employers, parents or carers that a dance practitioner has the expertise to teach children and young people.
- Our Level 5 Certificate in Safe and Effective Dance Practice, developed in partnership with the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science (IADMS), meets the needs of dance teachers, rehearsal directors, professional dancers and community dance leaders who need to show their practical, up-to-date understanding of best practices in safe dance.
Diploma in Dance Teaching and Learning
This diploma is designed for practitioners working outside formal education with children and young people, and is a Level 6 qualification developed at the request of the major national dance organisations.
Safe and Effective Dance
Practice
Our Certificate in Safe and Effective Dance Practice is applicable to those working across all sectors of the dance profession. Dance practitioners completing the certificate will be able to evidence that they can work safely and effectively in dance, whether it be to their employers, to dancers, or to the parents/guardians of young dancers.
Recognition
In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, these qualifications are accredited by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual), the Welsh Assembly Government and the Northern Ireland Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA).
Trinity College London is a corporate member of the Council for Dance Education and Training for its Dance and Musical Theatre qualifications.
